#1391 closed enhancement (fixed)
mathed: not possible to change macro name and argumentnumber
Reported by: | Uwe Stöhr | Owned by: | poenitz |

Priority: | high | Milestone: | 1.6.0 |
Component: | mathed | Version: | unspecified |
Severity: | minor | Keywords: | ui |

Description
Assuming you've created a macro named \macro1 with 3 arguments a week ago.
Now you want to rename it or change the numer of arguments. But this isn't
possible at the moment, so that you have to create a new macro which is very
impractical.

What is the reason for this patch not being accepted?
Is there any drawback?
It doesn't apply to the current SVN version, it is non trivial, it introduces
new questionable features (dynamically created macros?!) which must be supported
in the future and it doesn't improve the macro situation that the code is far
from being clean.
