Wrong encoding in UTF-8 enviroment

Can't se that anyone mentioned this.
I'm runing fedora2 - using utf-8 as characterset - lyx is using iso-8859-1 and
the there is problems in converting ascii (or rather, text) documents. Thats not
a main problem since you can convert the text document into iso-8859-1, but when
using aspell I run into problems. Im writing in swedish - and we use a couple of
local umlaut characters - at present I se no way but to recompile aspell (making
it useles in other programs).

A litle testing - all QT dialogs seems suffering from this bug,
search dialog does not find the coresponding string - it seems
that the problem is in the transition lyx - qt.

I have had the same problem on SuSE 9.2. It seems that setting the LANG
environment variable before starting lyx like

LANG=de_DE lyx

is a workaround (normally it is de_DE.utf8 here).

I have more serious problems with UTF-8 ... I can't type any non-ASCII
character, if I try that the current line gets completely messed up (in most
cases lots of weird characters inserted). I don't know how to copy text from
Lyx so I'm afraid I cant paste the results here. Changing the locale to de_DE
(ISO-8859-1) or de_DE@euro (ISO-8859-15) doesn't help.

This is fixed in 1.5.0svn. All locales and spell checkers work now, but text
files are always output in utf8. They can be converted with e.g. recode if
needed.
